Bi-Fold & Bi-Pass

Bi-Fold and Bi-Pass

If a customer wants to use our frame with a bi-fold door, which frame do we recommend?

Our standard frame without hinge or strike preps i.e. cased opening WITH STOP. This works perfectly for a bi-fold door because when the door is mounted behind the stop, the stop on the header conceals the 1/2" track. The stop on the uprights conceals the gap and the result gives a recessed “picture frame” effect.

If a customer wants to use our frame for bi-pass doors, what must we recommend?

Our standard frame without hinge or strike preps i.e. cased opening NO STOP, must be ordered. The fascia track and hardware is secured to the underside of the header. The frame header must be ordered undersized to create an overlap. Example: A header for a 5-0 opening should be ordered 59" or less.
